- Plain flour – 400g
- Sugar – 30g
- Salt – 5g
- Dry yeast – 7g
- Slightly warm milk – 200ml
- Melted butter – 30g
- Beaten egg – 01
- Sesame seeds
How to Cook Your Delicious Homemade Burger Buns::
- In a large bowl, whisk together the plain flour, sugar, salt, and dry yeast.
- Pour in the melted butter, warm milk, and the beaten egg. Mix everything until a shaggy dough forms.
- Now, it's time to knead! Knead the dough for a few minutes right in the bowl until it starts to pull away from the sides and forms a soft, elastic ball. If the dough feels a bit sticky, simply lightly flour your palms – resist the urge to add more flour directly to the dough, as this can make your buns tough.
- Lightly flour a clean surface or a large chopping board. Transfer your dough onto it and divide it into 8 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a smooth, round ball and carefully place them onto a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving some space between each one.
- Cover the baking tray with a clean kitchen towel and let your buns rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until they've visibly puffed up and doubled in size. This is where the magic happens!
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
